Guanabana Restaurant

Staff were really good and attentive the service was top notch there was actually quite a lot of staff which means it’s a busy place. From the moment we got in until we left the staff were all really good and the atmosphere was nice, the decor was quite new but was still giving a authentic Caribbean vibe to the place. The food itself was really good but I feel like the prawn starter and the chicken could have had a little bit more seasoning on the actual chicken itself and the jerk seasoning was really good the food itself I will give a 4.5/5 overall so I will definitely be back and I will highly recommend it.

This restaurant is LEVELS! The food is unreal, perfectly seasoned, full of flavour and served HOT. The service is even better: attentive, warm and genuinely welcoming. I ordered a platter with a side of mac & cheese, and I’m not exaggerating when I say this… it’s the best mac & cheese I’ve ever had (apart from my own, obviously ). Creamy, rich, and seasoned to absolute perfection. You can tell real care goes into every dish. Even the salad is fresh, crisp, and clearly made in-house - not something thrown together from a packet. And as if that wasn’t enough, it’s BYOB. You can bring your own bottle with a £10 corkage fee, which is honestly an absolute bargain. I genuinely love everything about this place - the food, the atmosphere and the staff, who are always a solid 10/10. This is my second visit in a month, and I’ll definitely be back again very soon Thank you, Guanabana — you never miss.

great food, lovely vibe and friendly staff. shout out to Pete who was very attentive and a lovely bright energy! I will definitely come again. Would say the prices are a little inflated for what it is but the portion sizes are very generous and you will probably have left overs to take home

Great food — so flavourful and well-seasoned! It was my first time trying a Caribbean-style Sunday Roast, and I absolutely loved it. The service was excellent and made us feel very welcome. The quality and portion sizes were amazing — we even took some home! I also tried the mango crumble with custard, and it was absolutely delicious I’ll definitely be back again!

Didn’t have a roast dinner for Christmas but this definitely beat anything I could have had. Half a perfectly cooked jerk chicken with potatoes, cabbage, carrots and soft plantain, topped with a warm and spicy gravy. We also shared the Mac and cheese which is definitely worth the price! Goes great with the gravy. You will leave stuffed. Definitely will be back

Despite it being the busiest weekend of the year, the team ran everything smoothly, we were early for our reservation but were greeted & invited to sit down at a table whilst we waited. Once we were seated, our order was taken within maybe 5 minutes, water was placed on the table & the meals followed quickly. This is my 3rd time visiting (I live abroad) & last year I came on New Year’s Eve, another busy period but nothing was missed. It can be off putting when making the reservation to see their strict 90min sit down rule, but honestly, unless enjoying the company you’re with, that allowance time is enough as our food came fresh & fast. Our server Aaliyah was very polite & friendly, accommodating when it came to the payment of the bill.We have no complaints & I would definitely come back again.

Me and my son came here to eat on Wednesday, lovely little restaurant, the staff were really friendly and helpful & the food was really nice and tasty, we had jerk chicken and mac & cheese, the chicken was very spicy and flavoursome, lovely atmosphere too. Am looking forward to returning.

Went for a girlie lunch and overall it was decent for the price point. Nothing fancy, but the food tasted good. I had the jerk chicken with rice and peas, which was enjoyable. I’m not the biggest fan of rice and peas, so I asked if I could swap it out and was willing to pay extra. I was offered jollof rice instead, which threw me a bit… at a Caribbean restaurant, you’d usually expect plain rice as an alternative. Not a deal-breaker, just unexpected. The bigger letdown was the coleslaw. Homemade coleslaw is a staple in the Caribbean community, we all know the childhood pain of having to grater carrots/cabbage for a mum or an auntie lol. So ordering “house slaw” for £6 and receiving what tasted (and looked) like cheap supermarket coleslaw was disappointing. I love jollof rice, and take no issue with simpler coleslaw BUT if you’re branding yourself as Latin & Caribbean-inspired, then lean into that properly. Pick a lane Omar and execute it well.
